Exterior - 2022 EQS
Your 2022 EQS review then takes you to the exterior. This sedan has all of the sophistication that you expect from a Mercedes-Benz, but the uninterrupted flow of the profile from front to rear sets it apart. The car’s nose is impressively rounded, and the glossy-black grille is topped by an LED light bar that runs across the top of the nose. A similar light bar runs across the hands-free trunk to connect the radiating LED taillights. Both the charging port and the door handles on the side have a flush stance. The 20-inch wheels are available in several styles for distinction.

The spaciousness of the EQS is aligned with that of the gas-powered S-Class. While these models share a few of the same features, the EQS has a decidedly futuristic feel that immediately sets it apart. Notably, its dashboard is dressed up with the Hyperscreen. This is a 56-inch screen with curved glass that perfectly integrates the driver’s instrumentation panel, a passenger’s display screen and the MBUX® infotainment system’s screen. It has a zero-layer interface that is easy to use, and it controls everything from the navigation system and device charging to the sound system, the massaging front seats and more. The interior of the 2022 EQS also has a biometric fingerprint scanner, a digital light band, smart power door functionality, voice controls, facial recognition, a Burmester® 3D sound system, a four-zone climate control system and a host of other elite features that elevate your time on the road in exciting ways.
2022 EQS Mechanical specs
For 2022, the EQS is available in two trim levels. These are the EQS 450 and the EQS 580. Both of these trim options are designed to move you smoothly down the road, and they have most of the same mechanical features. For example, they are both available with Dynamic Select, which comes with driving modes for Individual, Comfort, Eco and Sport. They also come with an adaptive damping system as well as an AIRMATC® air suspension system. The EQS 450 is a rear-wheel-drive vehicle, and the EQS 580 has a 4MATIC® all-wheel-drive system.
2022 EQS Powertrain specs
The primary difference between the two trim levels is in their capabilities. The EQS 450 comes with a 329-horsepower electric motor. This equipment can get you up to 60 miles per hour from a standstill in only 5.5 seconds. The EQS 580 has a 516-horsepower output. It only requires 4.1 seconds to reach the same cruising speed. Notably, both of these options are accompanied by steering wheel paddles that feature control over the adjustable regenerative braking system. They also both have rear-axle steering that is angled at either 4.5 degrees or 10 degrees.
